The Foundation Skills programme has been developed to support employees who have English as their second language; specifically, with the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, in order to develop fluency.

Programme Content

Developed using industry specific vocabulary and company material, programme content includes:

  • Speaking and understanding basic English, as related to the job
  • Reading and understanding workplace signage
  • Health and Safety procedures
  • Reading and writing basic English, including comprehension skills
  • Relevant form filling
  • Quality assurance checks, if appropriate
  • Following instructions
  • Asking questions when unsure
  • Critical thinking skills.
