Business New Zealand has identified that workforce literacy is a key skill shortage in New Zealand (source). Migrant workers and students appear to be affected the most by critical literacy gaps, in areas such as speaking, reading, writing, mathematics, technology and problem solving.
This broad programme covers a wide range of skills, but can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your business.
Yes, there is the potential for you to run a training programme with our company at no cost. The NZ Government funds us to partner with companies throughout New Zealand to improve the literacy and numeracy capabilities of their employees. If your staff meet the funding criteria and you don’t wish to engage in unit standards, we may be able to offer all the training free of charge.
To attract government funding, your staff must be NZ residents or citizens, and they must meet our NZQA and LNAAT assessment requirements. In addition, our programmes must be 30 to 80 hours long, have 8 to 12 learners in a group, and run 3 to 6 hours per week. You have a wide range of training topics to choose from, such as workplace communication skills, leadership, health and safety, financial literacy, digital literacy, ESOL & CIP.
